This weekend it was a pleasure to entertain the 4 year old daughter of fredrik's friends. After starting with creating one paper boat, she demanded for MORE and IMPROVED boats. Those were tested in the sink, and loaded with a lot of...well...vegetables

This just absolutely wasn't my week. I hate my bike.

Monday: lost my lock. AGAIN!

Today: fell off the bike and expired the adventure of getting transported by an ambulance car. Things only can get better.

Appartment stuff

My appartment is the best place to invite friends, because of it's asomeness.

Sometimes situation escalates and they start hitting each other with sticks.

And had a lot of fun with my friends at Kulturnatten. One highlight was definitely the silent film experience. Charly Chaplin Movie with a guy playing piano. That's authentical!!

So. I'm sitting on the couch and we are watching full metal jacket. But Yesterday i went to something called Mingle or durch treat party. Even the dutch guy didn't know what a dutch treat is. Well...everyone's supposed to bring something typical from his/her homecountry. This is what the dutch guy brought.

Stuff I bought in Uppsala

Well, I'm nearly equiped with everything you need when you live in Uppsala

First, I want to introduce you to my new bike. It's name is Mr. bike. I put some cat-stickers on Mr. bike to make it more unique, and maybe a bit more unattractive to bike lifters. Mr. Bike must feel kind of alternative that heavily tatooed.



What else do you need?? Well...I think you need this cool keytoy from moshi moshi kawai. I bought it at coop for 20 krones, but it's worth every öre. Makes life better every time I open the door.

serious stuff

Today was my first day at university. Well, it does not differ that much from my university in Aachen. Maybe some more people, and a cafeteria for students which has microwaves to warm up your food. The Mensa is quite expensive...so I'll go with the microwave system.

One thing that I didn't think of is the practical part of my new course. It's mostly about toxicating rats subcutane and intravenous.....But that's what toxicologists actually do....;_/)(E=/§

After a lot of lazy days, orientation week finally began.

Homesick

I felt a bit homesick today. No german television programm, I somehow miss my friends and my family. So Fredrik took me to a place that should warm up my heart

30°C

I finally found my university building. It takes me about 30 minutes from the appartment to get there. Since Uppsala is a very bike-friendly city, I don't care that much about the distance. But wait for the winter..... Here's a picture of my university building.




Since I arrived two weeks ago, the weather changes between very good and excellent. We had around 28°C, that's what I consider as very nice :)

My Place 1

Let me tell you about the place I live.

I share a flat with my very best swedish friends Fredrik in a place called Årsta. It`s situated a bit outside of Uppsala, but still I like it very much.

One thing that was kind of weird, is the huge chinese castle, build in the nowhere of sweden.

Urkult Festival - too friendly to be true

We spend the last days at a friendly hippi-festival in Näsåker, ca. 500 km north from Uppsala










The 1st picture is made at 2 a.m. It doesn't get really dark at all during summer.
On the other pic you can see the river at day, where the festival people used to take a refreshing bath in the morning.

Swedes like to make fun of the german enthusiasm for moose. To conform their expectation, we visited mooseman and his fosterchildren on a farm.










Beside being cuddly they also served our toiletpaper.
